Terms and Conditions

1. About us

This website is operated by Ardenholt & Co (“Ardenholt”, “we”, “us”, “our”). Our registered address is:

Ardenholt & Co
21 Ellis St
London SW1X 9AL
United Kingdom

You can contact us at info@ardenholt.co.uk for any questions relating to these Terms.

By using this website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Use of this website

  • You agree to use this site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use of this site by, any third party.

  • We may suspend or withdraw the site, or any part of it, at any time without notice.

  • Content on this site is provided “as is” for general information and may be updated or changed without notice.

3. Products and descriptions

  • We take care to describe and photograph products accurately, but minor variations in colour, finish or packaging may occur, especially for handmade items.

  • All sizes, dimensions and weights are approximate unless stated otherwise.

  • Images are for illustrative purposes only; accessories shown in photographs are not included unless expressly stated.

4. Pricing and availability

  • All prices shown on the website are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include UK VAT where applicable.

  • Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout.

  • We may change prices at any time. The price payable for your order is the price shown at checkout at the time you place the order.

  • All products are offered subject to availability. If an item you have ordered is unavailable, we will contact you to offer a refund or an alternative.

5. Ordering and contract formation

  • By placing an order, you are making an offer to purchase products from us in accordance with these Terms.

  • You will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your order. This does not constitute acceptance.

  • A contract between you and us is formed only when we email you to confirm that your order has been dispatched.

  • We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order, for example if a product is unavailable, there is an error in pricing or description, or we suspect fraudulent activity. If we do so after payment, we will refund you in full.

6. Payment

  • Payment is taken at the time of order via our approved payment providers.

  • You confirm that the payment method used belongs to you or that you are authorised to use it.

  • If payment is not authorised, the order will not be accepted and we will not be liable for any delay or non‑delivery.

7. Delivery

  • We deliver to the UK and such other countries as may be listed on our website from time to time.

  • Estimated delivery times and options (including any express services) are shown at checkout. These are estimates only and not guaranteed.

  • Risk in the products passes to you when they are delivered to the address you provide. Ownership passes once we have received full payment.

If your order arrives damaged or appears lost in transit, please contact us as soon as possible with photographs (where relevant) so we can investigate with the carrier.

8. Your right to cancel (UK consumers)

If you are a consumer based in the UK or EU, you have certain rights to cancel under consumer‑protection law.

  • You may usually cancel an online purchase within 14 days of the day after you receive the products, without giving any reason, and obtain a refund for the products (excluding certain exceptions listed below).

  • To cancel, you must inform us clearly (e.g. by email) within this period and return the products to us within a further 14 days, in their original condition and packaging.

  • You are responsible for the cost of returning the products unless they are faulty or not as described.

Exceptions: The right to cancel may not apply, or may be limited, for:

  • Products made to your specification or clearly personalised.

  • Products which, for health or hygiene reasons, are not suitable for return once opened (for example, certain skincare or bath products if the seal has been broken).

We will confirm in our Returns Policy which products fall into these categories.

9. Returns and refunds

Our Returns Policy forms part of these Terms and is available on the website.

In summary:

  • If you cancel within the legal cooling‑off period (where applicable), we will refund the price you paid for the products (subject to any permitted deductions for handling or diminished value) and the basic cost of standard delivery.

  • If you return an item because it is faulty, damaged or not as described, we will offer a replacement (where possible) or a full refund, including reasonable return postage.

  • Refunds will be made to the original payment method, usually within 14 days of us receiving the returned products or proof of posting.

10. Faulty or misdescribed products

We are under a legal duty to supply products that are in conformity with the contract.

If a product is faulty or not as described:

  • Please contact us promptly with details and, where possible, photographs.

  • We may ask you to return the product or, in some cases, to dispose of it safely.

  • Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund in line with your statutory rights.

Nothing in these Terms affects your legal rights under UK consumer law.

11. Use of products

Many Ardenholt products (for example candles, diffusers and bath items) require careful and appropriate use:

  • Always follow the safety instructions and warnings on our product labels and packaging.

  • Never leave candles or burners unattended and keep out of reach of children and pets.

  • If you have allergies, sensitivities or medical conditions, review the ingredient list carefully and, if in doubt, seek advice before use.

We are not responsible for damage or injury resulting from misuse or failure to follow safety instructions.

12. Intellectual property

  • All content on this website, including text, images, logos and designs, is owned by or licensed to Ardenholt & Co and is protected by intellectual‑property laws.

  • You may view, print and download content for personal, non‑commercial use only.

  • You must not copy, reproduce, distribute or use any content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

13. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

  • Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Subject to the above:

  • We will not be liable for any loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising out of or in connection with your use of the website or purchase of products.

  • Our total liability to you for any loss arising under or in connection with any contract for sale will not exceed the total amount paid by you for the relevant order.

14. Third‑party links

Our website may contain links to third‑party websites. These links are provided for your information only. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, the content or practices of third‑party sites.

15. Privacy and cookies

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and use cookies as described in our Cookie Policy. These documents are available on our website and form part of these Terms.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.

Your continued use of the website and any orders placed after changes are made will be taken as acceptance of the new Terms.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms, and any contracts for the sale of products, are governed by English law. You and we agree that the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident in another part of the UK you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
