To create such an outstanding chess piece from solid rosewood is a triumph of craftsmanship. With the additional carvings on their collars and bases, the same can be said for the other ornaments in this group.
 
Inspired by Mughal architecture on the Indian sub-continent and named after the Hindi word for 'proud,' these luxury chess pieces presented a challenge to find the most appropriate board that could best accommodate them, but early in 2014, our long-standing partners at Italfama in Florence delivered the perfect match for the Garvi Series Chessmen.
 
The dark walnut burl luxury Italian chessboard has deep, natural rivers of wood grain that wonderfully complement the chess pieces upon it.
 
Like the pieces, this chessboard is handmade by a team of craftsmen who spend weeks creating each one.
